Daytime Menu

We are affiliated to the Dorset Seafood campaign. & also part of Dorset Food & Drink. We use Dorchester based West Country Catch for local, sustainability sourced fish ie: Weymouth Bay Grey Mullet, Poole Bay Plaice, Seabass, Abbotsbury Mackerel, Mussels from the River Axe in Devon. All the crab we use is fresh, hand picked Portland Crab from our local supplier Jeff Milner. Our meats are mainly sourced from J.Mato & Son of Blandford Forum, Dorset, & of course our Chinns' sausages from Devon. Coastal Cheddar from Ashley Chase Farm, Litton Cheney, Dorset & Dorset real ale chutney from Cherry Tree preserves of Bridport.

We use locally grown mixed salad leaves (when in season) from Tincleton salad & herbs, Nr Dorchester.

Crostini

Smoked salmon and mozzarella cheese drizzled with hot chive butter and cracked black pepper on a bed of mixed leaves 

Char grilled artichoke hearts and chopped tomato on a crouton topped with tomato and olive tapenade and all topped off with a deep fried poached egg  Add crispy Parma ham for 

Goat's cheese and red onion marmalade on a toasted crouton served on a bed of mixed leaves

Taste rarebit made with mature Dorset cheddar cheese, grain mustard and Dorset beer served with a real ale chutney

Platters

Fish Platter - Portland crab cakes, smoked salmon, potted smoked mackerel pate with horseradish mayonnaise, served with freshly baked bread

Vegetarian Platter - twice baked cheese and leek soufflé, home pickled vegetables, deep fried tempura of vegetables with a honey soy dip served with freshly baked bread 

Dorset charcuterie platter - to include three locally sourced and cured meats from Bere Farm, Lychett Minister, red onion marmalade, home pickled vegetables and freshly baked bread 

Main Courses

Grilled local Sirloin steak, cooked to your liking and served with home cooked chunky chips, grilled cherry tomatoes and a selection from today's salads 

Portland crab cakes with a spicy crab mayonnaise served with today's salad selection 

Confit duck leg on a bed of braised red cabbage with chunky home cooked chips and an apple gravy 

Fresh fish - please see our special boards for today's local catch.

Linguine tossed with courgette, spinach and a light wine and garlic sauce topped with toasted almonds

Bacon, roasted onions with melting cheddar cheese 

Cajun chicken, with mozzarella cheese and mango chutney 

Roasted Mediterranean vegetables with Feta cheese and balsamic vinegar glaze 

Tomato, mozzarella cheese and pesto 

Snacks

Choose your bread - granary or white sandwich bread, seeded brown or white baguette, wholemeal pitta bread or Gluten free pitta (50p supplement) - then choose your filling:

Classic B.L.T. Crisp bacon, lettuce, tomato and mayonnaise 

Pulled slow roast pork with apple sauce 

Smoked salmon and cream cheese with black pepper and lemon 

Dorset Cheddar with real ale chutney 

All served with a mixed salad garnish.
